Steak with white sauce and mushrooms
Just try this one- you need to rest now, is tasty but a bit heavy
* 4,5 pieces steak
* 50-75 ml white wine
* 2 table spoons flour
* 1 can mushrooms
* 100 ml milk
* 1 tablespoon butter
Place the steaks into a non-sticking pan. Fry them slightly, then add a little bit of oil, salt, pepper, a sprinkle of oregano and the crushed garlic. Let it fry at least 7 to 10 minutes on each side. Add the white wine and let it soften until the wine evaporates. Remove from fire.
Prepare the white sauce as follows: melt the butter mixed with the flour. Mix continuously until you obtain a thick golden dough. Slowly pour the milk, bit by bit, mixing continuously. If not enough milk, add some chicken broth. Mix until you obtain a white thickish liquid having the consistency of a sour cream. Mix in the mushrooms. If the mushrooms are raw, clean, wash and cut them then fry them a little bit with some butter.
Serve the white sauce with mushrooms next to the steak. Serve with a sourish salad such as lettuce and radish one which you find in the salad section.
(The Romanian name of the dish: Friptura de vaca cu sos alb si ciuperci)
