Description: Rodna massif is the highest in the Eastern Carpatians and resembles with a natural castle, steep on the northern slope and gentle on the southern one, with glacial cirques and lakes, fresh running waters and rich forests.

Location: Met at the northern limit of the Transylvanian Tableland, they are part of the northern mountain group of the Eastern Carpathians neighboring with Maramures Depression in north, Tiblesului Mountains in west, Bargaului Mountains in south and Suhardului Mountains in east.
