Description: Although they do not count for the highest mountains, Piatra Mare Mountains stand out from the surrounding landscape by dominating the Brasov Depression at 1.200 m and Predeal Platform at 700 m. They are remarkable for their wonderful and varied landscapes and spectacular karst relief.

Location: Piatra Mare Mountains are part of the Barsa Mountains located in the southern part of the Brasov Depression in the Eastern Carpathians, being separated in east from Garcinului Mountains, in west from Postavaru Mountains, in south from Predealului Mountains and in north from Brasov Depression.

Highlights: Varful Piatra Mare - Big Stone Peak 1.843 m; Cascada Sapte Scari - Seven Stairs Waterfall; Cascada Tamina - Tamina Waterfall; Pestera de Gheata - Ice Cave; Piatra Scrisa - Written Stone; Sirul Stancilor - Stones line.

Price: starts with 170 USD/person for 5 days (+ one day in Bucharest) - includes: pick up from airport or railway station, transportation with IC and/or Regional trains, accommodation for one night in a hotel in Bucharest and in chalets or tents during the expedition, traveling support provided by two guides. If you choose transportation with micro bus the price stars with 290 USD/person. These prices are calculated for a group of 7 persons. The group can have maximum 15 members.
