Description: These mountains are a thin high calcareous strip, long of 22 km, being considered a geographical accident of the Southern Carpathians, due to the fact that its gentle peculiar profile contrasts with the massiveness of the surrounding relief forms.

Location: Part of the Southern Carpathians, they neighbour in the north-west with Fagaras Mountains and in south-east with Bucegi Mountains.
