Description: Belonging to the Hercynian orogenetic cycle, they are the oldest mountains in Romania, which were assumed to have Himalayan heights. Although today they do not exceed now 500 m high, they astonish through surprising landscapes which defined their shape over long geological periods.

Location: Situated in the eastern part of Romania, in the historical province of Dobrudja, they are bordered on three sides by the Danube River and in the south by the old Babadag Plateau.

Highlights: Varful Greci - Greci Peak 471 m; Varful Carja - Carja Peak 453 m; Izvorul Alb - White Spring; Broasca testoasa - Turtle (Testudo Greca).
