Gulash

Tasty, tasty, tasty.

Ingredients:

* 250 gr pork skin or pork ears
* 500 gr veal
* 250 gr lamb
* 500 gr pork
* 1.5 kg onions

* 2 teaspoons paprika (sweet or hot)

* 1 kg green beans
* 2 spoons butter
* parsley

* mug sour cream
* 1 spoon flour
* salt, pepper

A nice dish also try in the Delta

Ingredients:

* 1/5 kg of onion
* tomato paste (or squashed tomatoes)
* salt, pepper
* parsley
* and of course, 1 kg fish

Preparation:

Cut and fry the fish into a bit of oil. Remove from fire. Cut the onions julliene and fry it gently until golden. Add the tomatoes paste and a little water, salt and pepper. Place the fish on top of this sauce and bring to boil once. Sprinkle finelly chopped parsely on top.

Serve with hot polenta or country made bread.

Fish brine

A delicious fish dish that we tried in the Danube Delta.

Ingredients:

* 1 kg of fish cut into large pieces
* a fistful of salt
* a piece of metal to grill the fish on the wood (or simply a frying pan and a cooking machine will do)
* oil
* savory
* pepper

Although it might sound strange, this is an exquisitely tasty dish.

Ingredients:

* 1 pork stomach
* 2, 3 beef/pork other stomach for the filling itself
* 1 spoon pepper
* 1 carrot
* 3 spoons youghurt
* 1 garlic head
* 2 red sweet bellpeppers
* 2 bunches dill
* 1 spoon salt
* 1 spoon kidney lard (or any lard)
* 100 ml vinegar
* 5 onions

Ingredients:

* 2 tomatoes
* 2 bell peppers
* 1 eggplants
* 2 squash (or zucchini)
* 2-3 garlic cloves
* 1 mug tomatoes salsa
* 3 potatoes or kohlrabi
* 3-5 spoons oil or butter
* 6 cabbage leaves
* parsley
* 3 big onions
* pepper wine

Filling: Mix minced meat (of any kind: chicken, beef, pork) with finely chopped onion, egg, rice, dill, salt, pepper, paprika, thyme. For those who want to avoid meat mix stir-fried chopped mushrooms with an egg and greens.

False meat balls

Made out of potatoes in the north of Romania.

Ingredients:

* 1 kg potatoes
* oil (lard)
* 4 eggs
* salt, pepper

Preparation:

Peel and scrap the potatoes. Add salt and let it drain. Squeeze it well and add the eggs, salt, pepper. Heat the oil and take little balls with a spoon from the potatoe paste. Fry until gets golden. Serve hot with sour-cream and scrapped cheese and white wine.

Eggplant musaka

This is a dish usually found among the Mediterranean people but also inherited by the Romanians. It is a regular dish in Greece, Turkey, Lebanon and of course in Romania. However, it is thought to be originally from Greece. This could be eaten with or without meat

Ingredients:

* 700 g veal (minced)
* 2 eggs
* green parsley
* 100 ml oil
* 2 onions
* 2 kg eggplants
* salt, pepper
* 1 kg tomatoes
* 100 b butter
* 1 glass aromatic white wine

This is by far one of the most delicious dishes ever tasted.

Ingredients:

* 1 big duck
* 5 spoons goose lard
* some butter
* salt, pepper, paprika
* 1 small glass fruity brandy
* some fresh dill
* thyme
* 2 glasses wine
* 1 spoon honey
* 1 sweet cabbage

Ingredients:

* 300 g flower
* water
* 1/2 tbspoon salt
* 1/2 kg beans
* olive oil and sunflower oil

Preparation:

1) The dough must be quite solid. Take pieces from it and mold thick noodles.
2) Boil 1/2 kg of beans in water with a bit of salt. Then take out the beans and boil the noodles in the remaining water.
Take out the noodles, when boiled,add to them a little sunflower or olive oil, plus the beans and mix them up. (Recipe submitted by Micsa Petru)

Chicken with vegetables

Very light and nutritious

Ingredients:

* 2 spoons cornstarch
* 1 clove garlic
* 1/4 spoons ginger
* 1 tbs soy sauce
* 3 spoons oil
* 500 g chicken, strips
* 500 g vegetables: broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, celery, green onions

Preparation:

Chicken with sour-cream

Oh, so simple but so rich.

Ingredients:

* 1 chicken
* 100 gr butter
* 200 ml sour-cream
* 1 bunch fresh dill
* salt, pepper

Ingredients:

Cube the chicken and fry it in the butter. Add the water and let it boil. Add the sour-cream, salt, pepper and place it in the oven for 30 minutes. At the end sprinkle some chopped dill. Serve it hot with rice, mashed potatoes etc. Wash it down with white wine.

Chicken with rosemary and orange

Delicious and exquisite

Ingredients:

* 2 spoons butter
* 4 chicken breasts, skinless and boneless
* 1 spoon rosemary
* 2 garlic coves
* black pepper, salt
* 2 oranges
* 1 spoon cornstarch
* 1/4 cup orange marmalade

Preparation:

Ingredients:

* 3 chicken boneless breasts
* flour
* paprika (sweet or hot)
* salt
* 1 box sour-cream (500 gr)
* 250 gr pressed-cheese
* oil

Chicken with peaches and potatoes

Very filling and extremely tasty.

Ingredients:

* 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
* 500 g potatoes
* salt, pepper
* 4 plump peaches, halves
* 4 spoons oil

Preparation:

Peel and cut the potatoes in round slices. Place them on the bottom of the baking sheet. Place the chicken on top, and on the chicken place the peaches. Pour over the oil, salt, pepper and few spoons of water. Leave it for an hour or until done.
