Description: Well known for hiking, winter sports and alpinism, the Bucegi Mountains are high compact blocks, edged by steep slopes which dominate the Prahova Valley, a popular land for its mountain resorts - Sinaia, Azuga, Busteni, Predeal. On the altitude plateau there are famous rocks beautiful shaped by the strong winds as the Sphinx and Babele.
Location: They cover the central part of the country, being situated in the Southern Carpathians (at the limit between the Eastern Carpathians and the Southern Carpathians) and bordering with Baiului Mountains in east, Dihamului and Postavaru Mountains in north, Leaota Mountains in west. and Pucioasa Depression in south.
